The Fighters Guild is, naturally, on good terms with the Imperial Legion and Imperial Cult, friendly with the Mages Guild, have a working business relationship with House Hlaalu and a healthy respect for the House Redoran warrior-code of honor. If asked about the Fighters Guild, Caius Cosades will tell the player that he knows and trusts Percius, and that he doesn't know Eydis very well. Conflict has not yet broken out, but opinion is being polarised and nobody is quite sure which way to turn, or what Sjoring is really up to. Sjoring Hard-Heart ( Vivec) is the current guildmaster, but there is bad blood between him and the former leader, Percius Mercius ( Ald'ruhn), who is unhappy about the direction in which Sjoring is leading the Guild. It is possible to join the Guild in any of these places, but the most usual person to ask - and the only one who has quests suitable for the really green rookie - is Eydis Fire-Eye of Balmora. In Morrowind the guild maintains branches in Ald'ruhn, Balmora, Wolverine Hall and Vivec. The guild is a professional organization chartered by the Emperor to regulate the hiring and training of mercenaries, protect commerce, capture or drive away beasts, and similar security duties. You'll hear about them in your first set of "duties" quests, but won't have anything to do with them until much later in the questline.The Fighters Guild, present across most of Tamriel, provides a common and, more importantly, public place of training, study, and employment for those of a martial persuasion. Similar to the Mages Guild questline, the overarching story for the Fighters Guild is the elimination of a rival mercenary group called the "Blackwood Company". Then it's back to Azzan and gro-Khash for some more contracts and then back to Oreyn for duties again. Once those are done you go talk to Modryn Oreyn in Chorral (ask about "duties"). During the first piece you complete contract assignments given by Azzan in Anvil and by Burz gro-Khash in Cheydinhal (ask about "contracts"). Don't forget to search everything at the guildhalls. Anvil is also a very good place for finding low- and mid-level trainers in the various combat skills. The guildhalls are also a decent place to pick up low-level equipment at the beginning of the game (at later stages you'll be able to find much better equipment as loot). That means you now have a place to sleep in every town and have access to the talents of the guildhall steward for repairing your equipment. Assuming that you meet the requirements, you'll be made an Associate. Just speak to an appropriate member at any of the guildhalls (they are in all of the major cities, except the Imperial City, but only Cheydinhal, Anvil and Chorrol have quests).
